2024 Tri for a Cure VIRTUAL

Support Me

Support me in the fight against cancer!

This is my year! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. All while I was saying my goodbyes to my encouraging strong father, my best friend & silly mother, my handsome brave warrior brother in law only 46, and my precious 19 year old cat Cali. Cancer was something I couldn’t wrap my head around. And my mother wasn’t no longer with us. I wanted one more day for her to wrap her arms around me and tell me it will be ok. We will get through this together. Little did I know how much support and encouragement I would get from my wife, brother, family and friends. Went through a double mastectomy. Followed by major infection and crazy reaction to something drs couldn’t figure out. We survived was all that counted at the time. Now is the time for registering for the Tri For A Cure. Never did anything crazy like this before. The day of  registrations I couldn’t get into the site. Finally a little angel appeared. I’m registered. That was so emotional for me that day. I think the word cancer finally hit me after two months. Two months later was my next challenge. Emergency hip replacement. We survived once again. Yaaah! Race day comes up quick. My first year I raised $3600 and survived the tornado. I was so proud of myself. I couldn’t wait to find out fabulous Julie. I said to Julie I’m getting on that ‘wall’ next year  she said ok. So here we are Yingling. You have set a goal of $13K you nut. I started thinking how in hell am I going to raise that much money while going through new health issues. Bam! Got an idea from a fellow participant. Stacy Duffy was running a football pool. That’s how it started. Then did a basketball pool. Now we grab every friend you know and tell them my story. The Tri Fir A Cure has chenged my life in so many ways. Being around other survivors and people going through cancer now has shown me the way to be positive. Thank you Julie for forming this program for us. I would have never done anything like it for me all while helping others. You rock! Leaving my story with the main thing I learned from so many wonderful women involved with the Tri For A cure. Stay positive as hard as it gets!! And I’m positive I will reach my goal!! Stay strong warriors!

Every dollar counts! With your support, we can make a difference! Cancer tries but we TRI harder!
