Support me in the fight against cancer!

Hello my friends and family,

This year I will be participating in the 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure on July 14 to help raise money in the fight against cancer.  100% of the funds raised support cancer programs working to prevent, detect, treat, and cure cancer right here in Maine. I am extremely thankful for all the support you have given to me over the past five years to this incredibly worthwhile event.

I will be participating in this year's Tri for a Cure in memory of my husband, Paul, and his Dad, Ted, who both passed away due to colon cancer, my Dad who passed away due to lung cancer, and my nephew, Patrick, Steve's son, who passed away due to brain cancer.  I am also doing this Tri in honor of my sister, Karen, who has successfully beaten thyroid cancer and is winning the battle vs melanoma found in her eye, my friend Kathy who is beating back and still freezing by ocean swims, ovarian cancer, (and will be participating in the Tri this year!), and Charlie, a dear friend who is winning the battle vs a rare form of lung cancer.  Please keep these warriors in your positive thoughts and prayers as they "Beat the Beast."  There will be many names on my swim cap in the 2024 Tri For A Cure.  The motto of Tri for a Cure triathlon is "Cancer Tries, we TRI harder." For all those that we have lost, for all those that are still fighting, for all those that have won their battle, the support to Maine Cancer Foundation is important.  My personal motto to those fighting cancer is "Beat the Beast."  Anything we can do to make their lives easier for them is a priority.

Thank you for joining me in supporting Maine Cancer Foundation and ensuring that their efforts to increase screening and prevention rates continue while also providing critical funding for patient care and research.  I am looking forward to the day when cancer no longer affects so many people that I or anyone knows and loves, the day when a cure is found for all types of cancer.
