2024 Tri for a Cure LIVE

Support Me

Support me in the fight against cancer!

In May 2021, a few months after my 40th birthday, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent two surgeries, four rounds of chemotherapy and 4 weeks of radiation. I am proud to say I am still cancer free!! And to celebrate, last year I finished my very first triathlon by participating in the Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure! I never thought I could do something like this, especially after what my body has gone through. The training for this event last year kicked off my new love of running, and a renewed desire to prioritize my physical health. I now exercise multiple times a week and I am building muscle and endurance and getting STRONGER! I have learned that not only can I do hard things, I can persist and change my habits. I am now in the best shape of my life and I can't wait to participate in this year's 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure.

Not everyone who is diagnosed with cancer survives and I have lost many loved ones to this terrible disease. From both of my grandfathers, Michael Lovria and Bill Fritts Sr., to my Fairy Godmother, Maryanne Semmens, to my best friend, Ryan Edmonds, cancer has left painful holes in my life. I compete this year with these loved ones in mind.  Please support me with any donation, large or small, so that together we can keep kicking cancer's ass.
