Support Me

RACE4ROB~Help Cheryl get on the TOP 10 FUNDRAISERS WALL in 2024!!!!

Please support  me in the fight against cancer on July 14th, 2024!

I am sending a HUGE THANK YOU to friends and family who have supported me in my past Tri for a Cure Triathlon’s.  I am humbly and boldly asking for your support again for the Maine Cancer Foundation as I honor Rob on the 5th anniversary of his passing.

This year the triathlon is on July 14th, 2024 and I will hopefully start and finish the 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure in Portland, Maine.  This year,  I will again be competing as an individual, as will my DIL’s Ariel and Olivia.  MY MAJOR GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO BE IN THE TOP 10 FUNDRAISERS (from over 1000 women) AND HAVE A COVETED SPOT ON THE “WALL” PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RACE 😀 This goal is rather far fetched but each year I think the same thing.  I want to raise more.  I CAN raise more.  I CAN do more to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  In  2023 this goal became a possibility as we had the first Rob Gaudet Memorial Golf Tournament in August and raised close to $10,000 for the Maine Cancer Foundation.  This money goes towards my 2024 fundraising and I hope to raise over  $12,000 with YOUR help.

My other goal is to complete a 1/3 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride and 5K run.  The older I get, the more difficult this goal is.  But this is nothing  compared to what many endure who fight a daily battle with cancer.  It is nothing compared to Rob's short battle which ended April 10, 2019.   It is nothing compared to the battle a very dear friend who was recently diagnosed will have.  It is nothing compared to friends and family whom you may know who have battled cancer.  Rob never complained while he was sick and on this 5th year without him, I can think of no better way then to honor him in this way.  He will be standing on the wall with me , if I get there,  cheering me on as he always did.

Rob and I have loved calling Maine our home since arriving on Mousam Lake in 1989.  We loved the people and made lifelong friends here.   The Maine Cancer Foundation has been committed to reducing cancer incidence and mortality rates in Maine, with 100% of funds raised by the Foundation used to benefit its residents.  They also lead a state-wide effort to advance the most promising and effective cancer-fighting efforts available through a combination of grant-based financial support and coalition building.  I now support this most worthy cause.

I sincerely thank you for considering donating to this most worthy cause.  🩷   Please help me keep Rob’s legacy of generosity and love alive while raising much needed funds.   I am so grateful to you!

Every dollar counts! Please consider a donation. Cancer tries but we TRI harder! The easiest way to donate is via credit card on this site.  If you prefer to use Venmo ( would not be tax deductible this way however) feel free to send to me at Cheryl-Gaudet-1 and I will transfer to my Tri fund.  If you prefer to send a check, please make out to Maine Cancer Foundation and you can send it to me.  It would be tax deductible.   Many thanks 🩷!
