2024 Tri for a Cure LIVE

Support Me

RACE4ROB~Help Cheryl get on the WALL in 2024!!!!

Please support  me in the fight against cancer on July 14th, 2024!

I am sending a HUGE THANK YOU to friends and family who have supported me in my past Tri for a Cure Triathlon’s.  I am humbly and boldly asking for your support again for the Maine Cancer Foundation as I honor my husband Rob on the 5th anniversary of his passing.

This year the triathlon is on July 14th, 2024 and I will hopefully start and finish the 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure in Portland, Maine.  This year,  for the second time,  I will be competing as an individual and not as part of a team.  MY MAJOR GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO BE IN THE TOP 10 FUNDRAISERS (from over 1000 women) AND HAVE A COVETED SPOT ON THE “WALL” PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RACE 😀 This goal is rather far fetched but each year I think the same thing.  I want to raise more.  In  2023 this became a possibility as we had the first Rob Gaudet Memorial Golf Tournament in August and raised close to $10,000 for the Maine Cancer Foundation.  This money will go towards my 2024 fundraising.  I hope to raise over  $12,000 with YOUR help.

My other goal is to complete a 1/3 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride and 5K run in a better time than in 2022.  This is nothing  compared to what many endure who fight a daily battle with cancer.  It is nothing compared to Rob's battle.  He never complained while he was sick and on this 5th year without him, I can think of no better way to honor him.  He will be standing on the wall with me if I get there,  cheering me on as always ♥️.

Some of you may ask, why Maine?   I say why not Maine.  My family has enjoyed Mousam Lake and the wonderful state of Maine for many years.  Maine, and the people who live here, are near and dear to my heart, as they were to Rob.  And Rob’s favorite place in the world  was his camp on the lake.  It’s my favorite place too 🌲♥️

The Maine Cancer Foundation is committed to reducing cancer incidence and mortality rates in Maine, with 100% of funds raised by the Foundation used to benefit its residents.  They lead a state-wide effort to advance the most promising and effective cancer-fighting efforts available through a combination of grant-based financial support and coalition building.

As many of you know, my husband Rob was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2019.  He was courageous and strong.  Our family was devastated and heartbroken when he lost his short battle with cancer on April 10th, 2019.  Rob is my inspiration again this year.  The love of my life, my brave warrior and sweet husband of 35 years is gone, but he leaves a great legacy of kindness, generosity and great love for his family, friends and Lord. I will compete for him and to keep his memory alive while raising much needed funds.

We all have family and friends who have fought or are presently in the fight against cancer.  We CAN win.    For Rob, and all these people, and many more I do not know,  I will raise money, and I will swim,  bike and run in hopes that in my lifetime we can make huge strides in the fight against cancer.  I ask you to join with me in this battle.

I sincerely thank you for considering donating to this most worthy cause.  🩷

Every dollar counts! Please consider a donation. Cancer tries but we TRI harder! The easiest way to donate is via credit card on this site.  If you prefer to use Venmo ( would not be tax deductible this way however) feel free to send to me at Cheryl-Gaudet-1 and I will transfer to my Tri fund.  If you prefer to send a check, please make out to Maine Cancer Foundation and you can send it to me.  It would be tax deductible.   Many thanks 🩷!
