2024 Tri for a Cure LIVE

Support Me

Support me in the fight against cancer!

This year I'll be participating in the 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure. This is truly an amazing event that I keep coming back to, not only because I'm passionate about the cause, but because the participants and organizers are one of a kind.

This will be my 3rd TFAC. I am raising money and racing for friends and family who have been faced with the word "cancer" and beat it, and for those that have not. I'm also raising money and suiting up for those who may face this battle in the future. There are so many stories to tell, but here are a few for me.

First and foremost, my Grandmother. Grandma Shaw passed away this past Christmas at the glorious age of 98. She survived not one, but two cancers in her lifetime. First colon cancer and then breast cancer. She was an amazing warrior.

Second, for my Uncle Roberto, who battled lung cancer and passed away. Despite the language barrier, he made lasting connections with my family. He was an avid cycler and had the gentlest soul. His is dearly remembered and missed.

Third, for my wife's friend Kara. Who, first, fought rectal cancer and now is faced with breast cancer.

Lastly, for 2 of the lovely ladies who are joining me in the race this year. Barb and Tracey are both breast cancer survivors and they will be hitting the waters with me this summer to race with so many other wonderful women.
