Support me in the fight against cancer!

This year I'll be participating in the 17th Annual Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure- my 3rd Tri for a Cure. Each year that I have participated I am blown away by the amount care, love, superwomen strength and kindness that fill up this race. Also, each year proves to bring its own race excitement, like last year with there being tornado warnings and them shutting the bike course down, but not until after I'd headed out on my bike...it did seem quite windy...but I made it (ignorance is bliss! especially when the bike is the part that scares me to begin with! ha!) and got to complete all three legs of the race. Hoping this year there are no tornados, but even if there is some rain, wind, storms- it will not stop any of us racers, volunteers, cheer squads, and organizers from putting on one incredible event that brings us one step, one dollar closer to finding a cure for cancer.

This past year I lost a dear colleague and my aunt to cancer. Two years before a dear family friend. To Elizabeth, Maura and Noah, along with other members of my village who have had/our battling cancer, this triathlon will be dedicated to all of these superheroes. It will be a swim, bike, run adventure that is fueled by love for them and determination to finding a cure.

Thank you all for supporting my tri. Your contribution I am deeply grateful to receive, and I will keep you updated with how the training and race itself goes! Lots of love to you. Julia
