I'm honored and excited to be participating in my 3rd Twilight 5K this year with Team OTTO!
All of us are affected by cancer at some point in our lives, whether it's a family member, a close friend, classmate, or co-worker that is taking on the battle. My Grandma Gordon successfully battled breast cancer before I was born, but passed away of a heart attack when I was only 6 years old. My Grandpa Steele successfully recovered from prostate cancer and is now 87 years young! While two of my family members won their battles with cancer, not everyone can say the same.
If there is anything that I most believe in, it is to live out your days as adventurously as possible. I hope that my efforts and your help can make even a small difference in helping others take part in their life's adventures as well.
I am dedicating my run this year to Jill Richards Landers, who lost her fight with cancer less than a month after her 30th birthday this year. Jill and I went to Bucksport High School together and played soccer and basketball together. I will never forget her fighting spirit and dedication on and off the field.
