The 2017 Tri for a Cure will be my 5th! Every year I carry a list of names of those I am racing for - the photo on my page is from last year's event. I was saddened to hear of another name to add to my list this year - today I learned that one of my friends from high school is in surgery. While I am sad to hear of another friend diagnosed with cancer, I know she will beat this! So this year I dedicate my Tri for a Cure to D'arcy! You are a very strong woman and I know you will beat this! As always, I will also carry the memory of my dad, Wes Jordan, who I lost to pancreatic cancer in 2002; and to my mom, Dian Jordan, who is a cancer survivor! Cancer does not discriminate! It touched my triathlon coach Dave, a very healthy guy that is an Ironman multiple times over, including a 5 time Kona finisher! It touched a friend and co-worker, Charity, who showed it who's boss and is a survivor, and one of the strongest women I know. It touched my mother in law twice - Mary Gene, this is for you too; and my brother in law Mark. It has touched my Arturo's family - the best bartender ever Sue, Dom's wife Shannon and Mike's mom Anne. And too many more! I have vowed to do whatever I can to help in the fight - I saw what it did to my dad first hand..........no one should have to go through that ever........I miss him every day and wish he could be here to see me race. Please help support the fight against cancer by making a donation. No donation is too small. Let's end this disease once and for all! Cancer Tries and I Tri Harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
