I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in late 2005 when I was 26 years old. After 9 months of chemo, an autologous stem cell transplant, and radiation, I was finally declared cancer free in early 2007. I've been thankful enough to continue receiving a clean bill of health, including last year when I hit my 10-year cancer free anniversary!
I will be forever grateful to my amazing team of doctors and nurses who cared for me at Mass General. They are the reason I am here today! And they are the reason that I was lucky enough to have my daughter in 2010.
After doing 3 Twilight 5ks, I’m taking the plunge with my very first Tri to help beat cancer in Maine, as it has affected way too many of my loved ones, and to continue my own healthy lifestyle so that I can remain cancer free. As part of my training, I’m doing another Twilight 5k.
Thank you to everyone who donates - no matter what the amount. It's the little things that we all do that make such a huge impact. I continue to be amazed at the support I receive from my friends, family, and even those I don't know well.
