I can't believe that this is my 5th year competing in the Tri for a Cure. As I have said for many years, this is one of my favorite events of all time. There is nothing but positivity, support, love, and memories to be had. I started this as something to honor my Dad, who died of cancer nearly 14 years ago. Since then, I have dedicated this event to others who have fought cancer and survived, as well as those that we have lost. I think of all those people before, during, and after the race every year.
I also think of my dear husband, who will have been gone for two years by the time I race again. He always motivated me to do my best. His passion for triathlons was infectious and I love that I get to ride his bike and feel that energy he always had.
I have been overwhelmed in the past at the generosity of my supporters. It's a beautiful thing to be a part of. Thank you all for all your past donations, as well as anything you can give this year. The Maine Cancer Foundation is a great organization and I love to be a part of it. Read more below for more information!
Thanks again and love to you all! Love, Nellie
