It is now May 23 and I am updating my page. I started this year's fundraising efforts with the 16th anniversary of my dad's passing (from pancreatic cancer) on my mind and set my goal to $16,000. Within the last week cancer has touched my family again, and in particular my mom again. While in 2015 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and became a survivor, she recently received another cancer diagnosis. I am angry and sad and determined. Cancer touches too many lives. This year I am dedicating my Tri for a Cure to my mom. I don't really know where to begin to deal with this new news. It opens up a lot of old wounds and I am so heartbroken. This race holds a very special place in my heart, raising money for Maine Cancer Foundation, and fighting the horrible disease and being born and raised in Orono, ME. I have met some of the most incredible, strong, caring and just plain awesome people through this race....and I have had the blessing of doing this race with my cousin Kate and my sister Teri in the past 4-5 years. Together we race, support each other through these difficult times, together we Tri, together we are helping find cures and provide care for those touched by cancer. I will once again carry the names I am racing for with me on the run, with MOM in big letters in the center of my towel of inspiration - she is my number 1 inspiration this year. Please help me help all those with cancer by making a donation.
Support me in the fight against cancer.
Every dollar counts! Please consider a donation. Cancer tries but we TRI harder!
